This cup is so easy to do, just open the lid up and put a hot water and enjoy!
This noodles became more popular on YouTube for its eating challenge. Yes! I know it's a lot of work, but trust me, it's also less expensive and also saves you a lot of time. Sunday is the best time and the most practical day to make meal prep as sometimes we tend to be lazy on the other 6 days of the week.
It's so simple to go out or order food. It's also easy to have someone prepare it for you while you relax, but it's so much expensive than making food for yourself, but after a week of meal prepping, meal planning and hoarding budget-friendly recipes, you will surely save some money and save time.
I do believe in spontaneity, but when it comes to money and food I love to plan it all ahead. It's always best to know what you are getting prior to going to the grocery and make a list of it for you to save some bucks though we do have some surprise purchase, we could always make room for a little amount.
Choose a simple recipe that doesn't require a lot of ingredients which also means less time and less money to spend. A 3 dish recipe can also be flavorful as a recipe with 10 ingredients.
Here are some simple recipe ideas:
Because of my busy schedule and I need coffee everytime I start my job, I used to just walk to the nearest Starbucks and grab my favorite coffee, but the longer I do that I feel like it's draining my pocket. So aside from getting coffee at the coffee section here, I also bought some ground coffee and a coffee maker that I can just use whenever I need my coffee cravings. Having your own coffee at home is cost effective and it sure won't drain your pocket.
Ice cream, beer or Matcha latte, sure it's nice to splurge everyday with what you are craving every night, especially when you are stressed at work however this will seriously drain your account. It's okay to give in to your cravings once or twice a week, but this will not make you successful in eating on a budget. If you are a sweet tooth person like me and love to eat ice cream everyday I suggest you buy one carton of ice cream instead a small pint of ice cream.
These tips are the tips that I am using for the longest time and I am lucky to drop some savings on my account. These are very flexible so it's really up to you on how to use my little tips on how to eat on a budget.

]]>Whenever I open my lunchbox, the first thing you can smell is garlic. My mom always prepares fried rice for me during lunch time wherein you can barely taste the comforting blend of soy sauce, garlic and egg.
I remember my classmate will laugh at me and will say "You're so Asian" as they are having their peanut butter and jelly sandwich with no crust. All those years that has been my scenario until I got tired and ask my mom for a peanut butter and jelly thinking that it was the right combination of carbs and protein and got me thinking, finally no one will make fun of me of having fried rice at school.
Fast forward, you will see a lot of Asian inspired menus everywhere. Restaurants is taking Asian food as a glamour home cooked meal, comforting and down to earth in a 5 star restaurant. I mean there's nothing wrong with that and I am not against it.
What bugs me is these foods are created and judged by white people. I'm not trying to be racist here or anything but they are the same people who scoffed at my home made dumplings and stinky kimchi, saying that dumplings and kimchi is their favorite food and preaching how healthy it is and posting it on their Instagram. They create these food trends in Asian food without even thinking where it comes from.
Sushi bar? They are in every corner in LA. Ramen House? They are everywhere. Matcha? They are better than coffee and people are going crazy about it. Boba or Milktea? Got to post this just like everyone does.
These people are saying they discover it, it's a great new food and will be the latest food trend of the year.
Let me tell you more about this Asian food trend that it is all over the world of Instagram and believe to be made by Americans. Ramen was invented in the early 20th century: Matcha has been apart of Japanese traditional tea ceremonies and dumplings was invented in suburb in China.
I guess we can all agree that as an Asian American today, we are very happy in slurping a homemade ramen, drinking a good matcha at home, craved for a soup dumplings during rainy day in LA. These foods are a part of our history and culture, both are past and present.
I'm not saying Asian food are just for Asians. We are really happy that people are starting to appreciate and value Asian food. What im trying to say is that we are tired of people calling Asian food a "Trend" when these foods has been around longer than you have.
]]>When you think of Asian food all you think is Stir Fry. Sushi and more though these foods are delicious and cheap and these foods are being Americanized and lost its sense being an Asian food. So let me walk you through my top 4 Asian Food that has been Americanized.
Sushi is one of my favorite Japanese food like I can eat it all day and when I went to Japan and found out that the traditional sushi never uses fruit, chicken, beef, avocado or even cream cheese. Authentic Japanese sushi uses raw fish such as salmon and tuna, and cucumber. In another part of the world like here in Los Angeles some of the sushi bars are using avocado, mango and chicken which is kinda weird but somehow it gives justice to still eat a sushi but don't get me started on sushi burrito.
Spring roll or what we call Lumpia in the Philippines is always present in every table in any event, but if you will visit some restaurant here in America they call this an egg roll even though the they don't have any egg ingredients in it. Most of the American Chinese restaurant made the spring roll looks like a burrito and often very hard and very chewy surface. The traditional spring rolls have a crispy surface and steamed vegetable or meat inside.
I love Thai food, especially Pad Thai. The traditional Pad Thai consist of shrimp, flat noodles, fish sauces, peanuts and veggies. Some of the Thai restaurants here in America are using Ramen for noodles instead of it's authentic Thai flat noodles and uses chicken instead of Shrimp wherein it takes away the most important part of the dish.
Believe it or not, but fortune cookies is not an Asian food and they are created by Americans. Just when we all thought that this was originated in China as we can get a lot of fortune cookies in Chinese restaurant, but this is just a cookie with a paper inside and a written Chinese word of wisdom.
There you go folks. There is still a lot of Asian food that was being Americanized so next time when you go to an Asian restaurant here in America try to compare the authentic Asian cooking.
One more tip before I go, do you know that an authentic Chinese food they use peanut oil instead of Olive oil or vegetable oil? Yes, because the peanut oil has more fat than the Olive oil that makes the food so good.
Don't forget to check out our Shop section here to buy your authentic Asian Ingredients.

The traditional Cambodian coffee started with the French Colonists in the 1700's where they prepare coffee by roasting until nearly black, mainly by using vegetable fat. Once beans has been roasted, they are ground up and this fine powder is used to brew a very rich and dark coffee and mostly the coffee are brewed using either a cloth sock-like sleeve.
Unique has a unique tradition when it comes to their coffee. The coupe is what Indonesian called their coffee wherein they usually brew it in a cloth pouch.
